Serpico is farneses companion who was also her paternal half-brother. during his time with the holy see, serpico served as herald for the holy iron chain knights. despite being meek in appearance, serpico has sharp observation skills and can move quickly with a rapier. although farnese had abused him in her childhood and forced him to burn his own mother at the stake, he deeply cares for her. serpico found him beaten on a snowy street over a decade ago and has been his servant ever since. his relationship with guts has been plagued by animosity due to the dangers that often surround guts and anyone he takes into his band. after a duel with guts in the underground pillars of vritannis, guts spared serpico's life. their bond rekindled, and serpico now trusts guts to protect farnese when necessary. he uses two items blessed by the wind spirit sylph: a rapier that can generate razor-sharp gusts of wind and a cloak that generates a swirling vortex around its wearer, which can deflect projectiles, assist in jumping, and slow falls from great heights.
