Masayuki Nanjo inherited his father's clinic on Niijima after Terumasa's death in 1986. Although he is sensitive about his father's passing, Masayuki resents the media for their portrayal of the murder incident on Rokkenjima as flippant and insensitive. He tends to keep quiet about it, but Ange, during her investigation into the case, manages to get him to open up as a fellow victim who has also experienced loss.
