Umineko no Naku Koro ni is the third installment in the popular When They Cry series by 07th Expansion. The story takes place on Rokkenjima, an island owned by the wealthy Ushiromiya family. Every year, the entire family gathers on the island for a conference to discuss their financial situations. However, this year's topic is different due to the poor health of the family heads. While they are discussing their inheritance, Kinzou, the head of the family, has other concerns. He wants to meet his true love, Beatrice, before he dies. To do so, he initiates a ceremony using black magic. The family arrives on Rokkenjima and soon after, a violent typhoon traps them on the island. This leads to a series of mysterious murders that force the eighteen people on the island to fight for their lives in a battle between fantasy and reality.
