Lio Convoy

In the beginning, Lio Convoy was a courageous and honorable commander of the Maximal forces. His ship came under attack from a group of renegade Predacons led by Galvatron during their pursuit on Gaia, which is actually a future version of Earth. While pursuing them, Lio Convoy sustained injuries due to the Angolmois energy fields similar to those found in Beast Wars. He was rescued by a white lion whose form he scanned to gain a beast mode for protection. However, during his rescue, the Matrix copied itself into another Maximal named Lio Junior who believed himself to be Lio Convoy's son. After many adventures aimed at stopping Galvatron from harnessing the Angolmois energy, Lio Convoy and Lio Junior finally met their foe on the Nemesis, a massive warship that Galvatron intended to use for extracting energy from planets. During this final confrontation, Lio Convoy's team sabotaged the Nemesis while he clashed with Galvatron. Despite his Angolmois-charged enemy, Lio Convoy and Lio Junior combined their powers to defeat the madman Galvatron. In retaliation, Galvatron triggered a self-destruct sequence on the Nemesis that trapped the Maximals inside a wormhole.
