Yamato is the female member of the Zero pair who sacrifices herself for her partner's sake. Unlike Kouya's serious demeanor, Yamato has a lively and outgoing personality. Their romantic relationship is featured in a mini-arc within volume 4. Despite their passionate bond, Yamato finds their connection becoming increasingly stressful in the same volume. Without warning, her marking - which she sees as evidence of their love - begins to fade away. In an obvious reference to their homosexual relationship, both girls' markings - featuring a zero with a line through it - are located on the same spot on their breasts.
