Mikoto Misaka is a Level 4 ESPer who attends Tokiwadai Middle School and serves as a protagonist in Toaru Kagaku no Railgun and the main character of the eighth volume of the Toaru Majutsu no Index light novels. She is part of Judgment, a special public committee tasked with maintaining peace and order within Academy City. Mikoto has an intense infatuation for Mikoto, whom she refers to as "Onee-sama" (big sister). Despite her constant pursuit of physical intimacy with Mikoto, she is also deeply in love with her and would go to great lengths to help her, even if it meant putting herself at risk. Her power allows her to teleport herself and anything within a certain weight limit to any location within a specific radius. She carries around a strap of needles that she can use as a weapon. However, her ability is limited by the need for precise concentration on where she, the object(s), or person being transported will land, and any disruption in this focus renders her powers useless. Mikoto is considered Mikoto's best friend.
