Mikoto Misaka and her friends are back in Academy City again, investigating rumors. As they delve deeper, Mikoto discovers something horrifying - terrifying experiments involving the murder of thousands of espers, who happen to be clones of herself. Feeling responsible for their treatment, she sets out to put an end to these experiments. However, she soon realizes that her opponents are much more powerful than she anticipated and faces off against some of the strongest espers imaginable in Toaru Kagaku no Railgun S. Despite this, Mikoto continues to fight with determination, facing great despair as she tries to stop the inhumane experiments that she believes she helped cause.
