Osamu Tezuka's recurring character is known as Higeoyaji and has been featured prominently in Astro Boy and Metropolis. He is part of the Star System created by Tezuka. Over the years, he has had many voice actors portray him in various anime appearances. However, Kazuo Kumakura is his most famous seiyuu. Higeoyaji plays a school teacher and detective who advocates for the rights of robots in Astro Boy. He also frequently appears as a detective in other stories. Besides being a lawyer, sushi bar chef, teacher, politician, judo expert, and even a butterfly (in Rainbow Parakeet), Higeoyaji is an amiable old man who could be a good friend/mentor or your next-door neighbor.
