A young boy named Matt lived alone in the city after his mother passed away and father moved out for work. He was discovered by RD and became an unofficial member of their team. Impressed by RD, Matt decided to become a Zoid pilot and learned how to control the Leoblaze. Although the rest of Mach Storm wasn't as impressed with his plan, it ultimately backfired when the Leoblaze was stolen by Savage Hammer and used to create their Matrix Dragon. Despite this setback, Matt seemed unfazed in later episodes, even referencing the Fuzor when discussing the Chimera Dragon in an episode focused on that creature's counterpart. Matt consistently tagged along with RD during missions.
