Esmeralda, a slave worker on Death Queen Island, was rescued from her owner's whippings by Ikki. They soon became close and met regularly at a unique location where flowers bloomed amidst the barren landscape of the island. In the anime version of the story, Esmeralda is Guilty's daughter who secretly visits Ikki in his resting place within the dungeon after training sessions. Her death mirrors that of her manga counterpart.
