Inspector Re-l Mayer of the Citizen Intelligence Bureau is a 19-year old individual with a no-nonsense personality as portrayed in episode 7. As the granddaughter of Donov Mayer, Regent of Romdo, she commands respect from those around her and uses formal language such as addressing Vincent as "o-mae." Re-l is tasked with investigating a series of brutal murders committed by AutoReivs infected with the Cogito virus. She accompanies Vincent on his journey to learn more about Proxies, but finds the outdoor hiking experience unbearable and throws tantrums at times with comical effects. While stranded without wind, Re-l passes time by studying Vincent and her companion as subjects. Her narration reveals her analytical nature. Re-l is known for wearing black clothes, having black hair, and sporting blue eyeshadow. Eventually, she shares Vincent's feelings but does so subtly.
