Bob Makihara

Bob Makihara, a young man from South Africa, is often referred to as "the foreigner" in the series due to his heritage. Despite this, he has blue eyes and is known for his long dreads and muscular build. Little information is available about his past, except that his father was a first lieutenant of the U.S. Navy and he met Souichiro Nagi during his 2nd semester in elementary school. They started calling themselves "the knuckle bombs" after their encounter. Bob's girlfriend's name is Chiaki, and they seem to have a strong bond. Souichiro is Bob's best friend, and Masataka Takayanagi also appears to respect him. Bob enjoys fighting and is considered a skilled fighter in the series. He has better powers of perception than Souichiro, as he quickly notices that something is different about Toudou Academy when they arrive. Bob also recognizes that someone much stronger than Masataka Takayanagi and Maya Natsume is lurking around. Despite Mitsuomi Takayanagi offering to train him and make him the "sharpest blade in the school," Chiaki convinces Bob to stay with the Juken club. However, he later regrets his decision when Masataka still has to save him despite all the training Maya put him through. Despite this, Bob remains a member of the Juken club and continues to train.
