Ginko is a woman who began playing shogi at the age of two and was taught by Kiyotaki when she was four years old. Since then, she has won two out of six titles that female shogi players can achieve. Her unblemished record against other professional women shogi players has earned her the nickname "The Snow White of Naniwa." Despite being a skilled professional shogi player, Ginko's popularity is not as high as Yaichi's.
