Hisako Kanemoto was born and raised in Okayama, Japan where she attended Kamogata High School. She later pursued higher education at the Vocational School of Art College Kobe, where she studied voice acting. After completing her studies in 2008, she moved to Tokyo and joined a training office associated with Production Baobab agency. Initially using the pseudonym Juri Aikawa, Kanemoto made her anime debut in Sora no Manimani in 2009. She later announced that she would be using her real name for future works after landing the lead role in So Ra No Wo To. In addition to her work as a voice actress, Kanemoto has also been cast as the title character in Shinryaku! Ika Musume and was named Best New Actress at the 5th Seiyuu Awards in 2010. She is known for voicing mascot characters from Okayama Prefecture due to her origin, and made her debut as a solo musical artist in 2014 with Fantastic Voyage under Victor Entertainment.
