In episode 8 of Sasafune no Honya Yarō wa Yume-Miru Shōjo no Yume o Minai, a mermaid named Sasafune appeared when Takashi and his male friends visited an inn to study. Sasafune had previously met Chizu Sakanaka, the owner of the inn, when she was young. She believed that Chizu had used her for the purpose of obtaining her mermaid blood, which is rumored to grant eternal life to whoever consumes it.
