In this episode, we see Natalie operating a flower shop near Lake Lotad alongside her older sister Nicole. While Ash and his friends were playing at the lake with the Lotad, Natalie invited them for a lecture. However, instead of receiving a lecture herself, she was scolded by her sister for being impolite to travelers. This incident made Natalie envious of Brock's kind treatment towards her sisters, leading her to develop feelings for him. As time went on, Natalie found herself drawn to Brock and would always be close to him, ready to assist him in any way possible. Her infatuation with Brock put her in danger when she decided to search for a Sitrus Berry by herself, believing it would aid Brock's goal of becoming a Master Breeder. However, this decision led to an attack from a swarm of Beedrill, which Brock rescued her from. In the end, Natalie fulfilled her earlier promise and provided Brock with a list of Berries and their effects on Pokémon.
