In Rustboro City, where he grew up, lives our protagonist, Forrest Gump. As a ranger, he has extensive knowledge of the region's Pokémon habitats. Despite his desire for adventure, he is hesitant to travel due to fear. Initially, in an episode featuring May, Forrest introduced himself as Franklin and assisted her in capturing her Wurmple. He admired May's self-reliance. Inspired by May's journey, Forrest decided to overcome his fears and embark on his own adventure. Although he initially proposed traveling with May and her friends, this did not come to fruition. Eventually, May took him to meet Ash, Brock, and Max, where he was reunited with his long-lost brother. Any confusion among the group was clarified.
