Giorno Giovanna was born as Haruno Shiobana and is the son of Dio (who fathered him using Jonathan Joestars body) and a Japanese woman. As a child, his mother remarried an Italian man and they moved to Italy, resulting in Haruno Shiobana becoming known as Giorno Giovanna. From a young age, Giorno had a strong ambition to become a mafia boss, or "Gang Star." He eventually joined the mob squad Passione and quickly rose through the ranks, becoming its de facto leader despite being its youngest and newest member. Unlike many other mafia leaders, Giorno's goal was not solely about accumulating wealth but also redistributing it to help the poor, similar to Robin Hood's agenda. He influenced all of Passione except for their boss, who later became their worst enemy.
