In 2001, Naples was home to Giorno Giovanna, a small-time criminal with an ambitious goal - to become a "Gang-Star." He had a unique connection to the Joestar bloodline and possessed a Stand named Gold Experience. His dream began when he met Bruno Buccellati, a mobster from Passione, another gang member who was also a Stand user. They shared similar ideals and disagreed with their respective gang's harmful activities. Giorno revealed his goal to overthrow the boss of Passione and reform it into a positive force. As Giorno became part of Passione and joined Bruno's squad, he discovered that the gang had many Stand users. He now faced adversaries from other factions with differing loyalties and varying abilities. To achieve his objective, Giorno worked to advance through the ranks and get closer to the boss, who was shrouded in mystery.

JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken Part 5: Ougon no Kaze was published in Italian by Star Comics from July 1999 to August 2001.An action-adventure video game developed by Capcom that was based on Ougon no Kaze was released in Japan on July 25, 2002.
