In Muv-Luv Extra, Meiya is the sole heir to the Mitsurugi Group, one of Earth's largest corporations. One day, she wakes up next to Takeru and declares that they are meant to be together. She follows the Bushido code and grew up in a sheltered environment, which sometimes puts her in difficult situations. Meiya has access to unlimited resources and overprotective attendants who try to help her win Takeru's heart. In Muv-Luv Unlimited, Meiya is one of Takeru's fellow cadets in the trainee squad. She excels in melee combat with weapons such as knives and swords. However, questions arise about why there is a Type-00R Takemikazuchi in the hangar as a gift from the Japanese Shogunate or why there is a detachment of the Imperial Royal Guard watching over her. Despite coming from a different background than Extra, Meiya's core personality remains unchanged - she is incredibly righteous and noble, often struggling with conflicting feelings about her duties as a soldier and to the Japanese people. In Muv-Luv Alternative, Meiya is similar to Unlimited but has a more developed personal history and personality. She plays a more prominent role in Alternative.
