In the movie, due to the combination of Darkrais Dark Void and Palkias interference with space, Alberto was transformed into Lickilicky. While dreaming that he was Alberto, Lickilicky became Alberto. This angered him, so he offered a reward for anyone who could defeat Darkrai. Later on, when the effects of Dark Void faded, he returned to his normal form and appeared in the ending credits of Arceus and the Jewel of Life, piloting his own hot air balloon and still trying to win Alices heart. He also made a cameo appearance in I Choose You!, which took place in a different timeline from the main series. In this appearance, he was seen with his Lickilicky in Alamos Town.
