The plot of the movie revolves around how Satoshi and Pikachu became acquainted. Initially, Pikachu was uncooperative towards Satoshi, but all he wanted was to be friends with him. On their journey from Masara Town, they encountered a Ho-Oh in flight, prompting them to make a promise to one day meet it.
