The streaming of a teaser trailer for the anime film adaptation of Starwing Paradox game by Square Enix and Sunrise began on Thursday on their official website. The trailer showcases the film's release date on August 22 and introduces additional staff members involved in the project.
It has been previously stated that Kobun Shizuno will direct the film, while Yoshiyuki Sadamoto will return from his work on games to design the characters for the film.
In Japan, the game was introduced in November 2018 and stopped providing service in October 2021. It allowed up to 16 players to compete against each other in two teams of eight players each. The design of the cabinet was meant to mimic a cockpit, providing players with an immersive experience that matched their movements with the game.
On the distant planet of Meguriboshi, located far away from Earth, there are two kingdoms: Kō Country A Slegga and Va Led Sei Kingdom. Despite being separated by light-years, they are constantly at odds due to their access to Hoshinochi, a unique form of living energy found only on this planet. These two kingdoms are engaged in an eternal conflict over control of this valuable resource. The weapons used in this battle are known as Ae Rial, massive weapons developed by Kizana, a multinational corporation.
The Ae Rials possess a unique feature known as the "Rearide System," which enables them to transmit customized data across different planets. When an "AZ-One" knight and an adept extraterrestrial flyer collaborate, they can fully harness the potential of the Ae Rials. Moreover, a planet inhabited by intelligent beings with exceptional abilities has recently been discovered. This planet is called Earth.
