2025 Detective Conan film stays at #2, live-action Blank Canvas film drops to #7
In its seventh weekend, Detective Conan: One-eyed Flashback remained at #2 in Japan. Over three days, it sold 242,000 tickets for 346,376,500 yen (approximately US$2.4 million). As of now, the film has sold 9.21 million tickets for a total revenue of 13,322,638,700 yen (about US$92.48 million).
In Japan, the movie debuted as the top-grossing film. It made approximately US$24.15 million from ticket sales and earnings of 3,438,626,700 yen in its first three days. This surpassed the previous record for the franchise in terms of opening-weekend ticket sales and earnings.
In Japan, "Detective Conan: One-eyed Flashback" premiered on April 18th with IMAX, MX4D, 4DX, Dolby Cinema screenings, as well as regular showings. This marks a new record for the franchise with 522 theaters participating. King Gnu sang the theme song "Twilight!!!".
The movie was directed by Katsuya Shigehara who is also known as the unit director of Detective Conan: Kurogane no Submarine . Takeharu Sakurai wrote the script for this film.

Over the course of three days from Friday to Sunday, the film generated revenue totaling 148,816,060 yen (approximately US$1.03 million). To date, it has amassed a cumulative total of 528,811,540 yen (around US$3.67 million).
In its first three days, the movie grossed $1.81 million after selling 177,000 tickets. It placed fourth during its debut weekend.
In the upcoming film "March Comes in Like a Lion," Issai Takahashi will once again portray his character from the previous nine television series and movie. Additionally, Marie Itoyo will be back in her role as Kyoka Izumi from previous installments.
Kazutaka Watanabe directed the latest live-action JoJo's Bizarre Adventure film with assistance from Yasuko Kobayashi who wrote most of the previous installments. Naruyoshi Kikuchi composed the music with Shin Ongaku Seisaku Kōbō while Isao Tsuge supervised character designs and costume creation. ASMIK Ace is responsible for distributing the movie.
Blank Canvas: My So-Called Artist's Journey ( Kakukaku Shikajika ) manga movie dropped from #5 to #7 in its third weekend. Despite this, it made 96,272,200 yen (US$669,600) from Friday to Sunday. As of now, it has sold 440,000 tickets and earned a total of 582,901,880 yen (US$4.05 million).
The film opened on May 16.
The film stars Mei Nagano as high school girl Akiko and Yō Ōizumi as art teacher Hidaka.
Kazuaki Seki was the director of the movie. Along with Higashimura, Date-san wrote the script. Yuki Munakata composed the music for it.
