Ayaka Suwa, Toshiki Masuda, Yūma Uchida, Yuu Hayashi, Chikahiro Kobayashi co-star




On Thursday, it was announced on the official website of the manga adaptation of Coffee 's Wandance hip-hop dance anime that they have added more cast members for the second season.

Ayaka Suwa as On Miyao, the leader of Ichirin High School's dance club

Toshiki Masuda as Iori Itsukushima, a second-year student in the dance club

Yūma Uchida as Gaku Kabeya, a top-tier breakdancer (b-boy)

Yuu Hayashi as Usen Takumi, the leader of a rival school dance club

Chikahiro Kobayashi as Assei, a professional dancer in the PTSG dance team

Kodansha USA Publishing releases the manga and describes the story:

A boy named Kaboku sees a girl named Wanda dance, and suddenly burns with a need to join in. With its thrilling scenes of Japanese hip-hop dance and quirky, charming characters, this is a new, inspirational manga for fans of coming-of-age stories like Blue Period and Your Lie in April . Get up and join the Wandance !

Kaboku has consistently followed the expectations of those around him, including his parents and school, without questioning or deviating from the norm. This predictable and safe lifestyle left him feeling empty. One evening, while at school late, Kaboku encountered Hikari Wanda, a member of the hip-hop dance club, who was expressing herself creatively on a concrete surface. Kaboku was immediately drawn to her, but joining the all-female club presented challenges for him. Despite his fears, this newfound freedom represented an opportunity for Kaboku to explore unknown territories and experience a taste of independence for the first time in his life.

Michiya Katō of Okko's Inn fame will be overseeing the animation production at Madhouse and Cyclone Graphics for the upcoming anime series. RIEHATA, a renowned choreographer, dancer, and singer known for their work with Japanese groups like EXILE and KAT-TUN as well as Korean groups such as BTS, EXO, and Red Velvet, will be in charge of producing the dance sequences for this new show.

The anime will debut in October.

Disney+ is streaming the anime in other countries, but in the US it is usually available on Hulu.

Coffee launched ( link ) the manga in Afternoon magazine in 2019, and is simultaneously published ( link ) In August 2024, Kodansha released the 13th compiled book volume of the manga. Meanwhile, on November 12th of the same year, Kodansha USA Publishing released the manga's 11th volume in English.
