After losing her parents in a car accident, Okko moves to live with her grandmother in the countryside. Her grandmother runs an ancient Japanese inn built on top of a spring said to have healing waters. While performing her chores and preparing for her role as the next caretaker, Okko discovers that there are playful child ghosts living in the inn who only she can see. The sign outside welcomes all guests without discrimination. Soon, new visitors arrive, testing Okko's ability to be a gracious host. However, Okko learns that by dedicating herself to others' happiness, she finds her own well-being.
