On Thursday, it was announced that there would be a new episode of the anime series based on the MONOGATARI Series: OFF & MONSTER. Along with this news, a special video was released, as well as a teaser visual that gave viewers a glimpse into what to expect in the upcoming episode.
Anime staff began posting a "preview of the next episode," which included scenes of DJ Nadeko and Bro. Yotsugi.
SHAFT has appointed franchise veteran Akiyuki Simbo as chief director for their new episode. Midori Yoshizawa will be directing this episode. Fuyashi Tou will be in charge of overseeing the series scripts with Simbo. Akio Watanabe will be returning as character designer and chief animation director for this project.

In July 2024, the anime was made available exclusively on the ABEMA platform in Japan. On October 19th, its 14th episode was released. Crunchyroll also streamed the anime as soon as it became available in Japan.
NisiOisin started his novel series in 2006 with Bakemonogatari, which was later adapted into an anime in 2009. The final season of the anime ended in September 2014 with Zoku Owarimonogatari, but it included a teaser for Monogatari Series Next Season Tsugimonogatari.
In July 2017, the Monster Season of the novel series began with the release of Shinobumonogatari. Other novels in this season include Yoimonogatari, Amarimonogatari, Ōgimonogatari, and the two-volume Shinomonogatari, which was published in August 2021. These novels continue the franchise storyline, taking place in college.
The latest novel in the franchise is Ikusamonogatari , which shipped in May 2023.
