A-1 Pictures produces film based on novels




On Friday at Anime Expo, Eisen Flügel presented a new trailer and visual for their upcoming theatrical anime film.

The film at A-1 Pictures was directed by Daizen Komatsuda, who was also responsible for adapting Takashi Takeuchi of TYPE-MOON 's character designs for animation. Kiminori Itō was credited for the original character drafts, while Yukie Sugawara and Seiji Mizushima wrote the screenplay. Yuki Kajiura composed the music for the film.

The mechanical designers responsible for this project are Kanetake Ebikawa, Takayuki Yanase, and Fumihiro Katagai. Tatsuya Yoshikawa is in charge of designing dragons, Kusanagi is the art director for this project, and Seiichi Shirato is responsible for conducting research on setting. Masafumi Mima is the sound director for this project.

Gen Urobuchi provided a comment for the project:

Once upon a time, there was an eroge company called NITRO PLUS.

An unexpected opportunity presented itself to them, which was a proposal for an animated film about a competition between a dragon and a jet in a distant land. They submitted this proposal to the company president who requested that it be adapted into a one-cour anime series. Due to this sudden demand, the scriptwriter felt overwhelmed and hurriedly added more details to the proposal.

But time passed and not a word was herd about the project again. Eventually, it passed from memory.

After some time passed, a writer who was affiliated with Gagaga Bunko remembered an old idea that he had put aside for a while. He then revived this forgotten plan and turned it into a two-part book.

Soon after, Aniplex provided the scriptwriter with an opportunity to adapt his work into a movie. After almost two decades, Eisen Flügel will finally realize its potential as a feature film.

And they all lived happily ever after.

A-1 Pictures initially announced the film at the Aniplex Online Fest 2022 event.

Gagaga Bunko released the novels with illustrations by Higashiguchi Chūō in 2009.
