Full music video for "Invincible(ish) Happiness!" streams on July 28
On Monday, Nagaru Tanigawa shared a brief musical clip from his upcoming song for the Haruhi Suzumiya light novel series on Kadokawa's streaming platform. This full music video will be released on July 28th, and the track will become accessible on streaming services on July 29th.
The video previews "Invincible(ish) Happiness!":
After reaching our third funding objective in November, we will produce two additional songs.
Satoru Kosaki is the composer for the background music and song "God knows..." in the anime series "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya". He has also scored the first added song. Tsubasa Ito is responsible for composing the second added song.
On November 15th, the campaign began and finished on January 15th. By the end of its first day, it had achieved its first two objectives for one new song and its music video. In total, it raised 86,825,276 yen (approximately US$595,000).
The new song featuring Haruhi, Mikuru, and Nagato was funded by an initial goal of 10 million yen or approximately US$65,000. The music video included a 3D model of Haruhi dancing. An additional 15 million yen or approximately US$97,000 was raised through a second goal, which added 3D models of Mikuru and Nagato. Aki Hata and Tomokazu Tashiro, the songwriters of "Hare Hare Yukai," collaborated on the new song, with Tashiro serving as composer and Hata writing the lyrics.
In addition to developing the project, there will be a new original voice drama featuring the SOS Brigade cast (Aya Hirano, Tomokazu Sugita, Minori Chihara, Yūko Gotō, and Daisuke Ono) as a reward for supporters.
The delivery of physical backer rewards was planned for early February 2025, whereas digital backer rewards are expected to be distributed in the second half of 2025.
Image via Haruhi Suzumiya franchise's X/Twitter account On November 29th, the first new volume in four years from the Haruhi Suzumiya light novel series was released worldwide. Both Kadokawa 's BookWalker Global site and Yen Press made this new volume available in English on that same day through digital releases.
This book contains two brief tales that were originally printed in Kadokawa's magazine "The Sneaker," as well as a follow-up narrative to those two narratives.
The fantasy world of Suzumiya Haruhi Theater: Fantasy Arc was featured in the August 2004 issue of The Sneaker. In this story, the SOS Brigade is transported into this world. This narrative continues in various realms with the follow-up story "Kaete Kita Suzumiya Haruhi Gekijō" in the June 2006 issue of The Sneaker. The latest addition includes another sequel short story that builds upon these earlier tales.
Between 2003-2011, Tanigawa and illustrator Noizi Itō released 11 novels as part of their original series. As of 2017, over 20 million copies of this series were in print. In 2009-2013, Little, Brown Books for Young Readers and Yen Press released all volumes of this series (at that time) in 10 volumes. These first 10 volumes are also available in English digitally.
In November 2020, Kadokawa released "The Intuition of Haruhi Suzumiya," which combined two previously published short stories with one new one. Meanwhile, Yen Press released the English digital version at the same time as the print version in June 2021.
In 2006, the initial release of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya anime was out of order. It was later rebroadcast in 2009 with additional episodes and a new chronological sequence. Kyoto Animation animated the show's first two seasons. Initially, Bandai Entertainment owned both series licenses, but Funimation later released them in 2016.
The books have given rise to both manga adaptations and additional manga series. Some of these derived manga series have subsequently been turned into anime productions.
