Hadaashi no Gen wa Mada Okotteiru follows people bringing Barefoot Gen to the world
On Wednesday, the BS12 TwellV satellite channel declared that they are creating a movie adaptation of their 2024 documentary titled Hadaashi no Gen no Netsudendō ~Genbaku Manga o Tsutaeru Hitobito~. This film will be released at Tokyo's Pole Pole Higashinakano Theater, Hiroshima's Salon Cinema, and other cinemas in November. The movie will be titled Hadaashi no Gen wa Mada Okotteiru ( Barefoot Gen is Still Mad). Seitoku Iriyama will be directing, planning, and editing this film.

In 2024, a documentary about the individuals responsible for introducing Keiji Nakazawa 's Barefoot Gen manga worldwide and maintaining its legacy was broadcasted on TV channel BS12 TwellV during September. This film was recognized with two awards - the Media Ambitious Award for its screen category in 2024 and the Best Documentary award at the 15th Japan Satellite Broadcasting Association Awards in the same year.
Nakazawa created the acclaimed Barefoot Gen manga series which depicts the aftermath of the Hiroshima atomic bombing in 1945. He was born in Hiroshima in 1939 and experienced the bombing at age six when he lost his father, older sister, younger brother, and younger sister, while his mother and two brothers who were not at home survived.
Nakazawa passed away in 2012.
In April 2023, Last Gasp Publishing released Nakazawa's I Can't Forget the Bomb: Barefoot Gen and the Atomic Bombing of Hiroshima: A Memoir book as well as his I Saw It ( Ore wa Mita ) manga. Additionally, the story from the Barefoot Gen manga has been adapted into two animated films and a live-action television drama special in Japan.
