Game launches for PC via Steam, Epic Games Store; for iOS, Android
On Friday, Chinese game developer BOKURA announced that their multiplayer online game called Blue Protocol: Star Resonance, which is based on Bandai Namco Online's Blue Protocol game, will launch in English in October. Pre-registration for iOS and Android is currently available.
On Friday, the beta version of the game began testing with select individuals. Following the conclusion of this trial phase, all data from participant accounts will be deleted. However, any in-game items owned by users during the beta phase will be converted into in-game currency at a discounted rate upon release of the final version of the game.
The game will also have a playable demo at Anime NYC from Friday through Sunday.
The game is available for download on various platforms including PC through Steam and Epic Games Store, and for mobile devices through Google Play Store and App Store.
Blue Protocol: Star Resonance is a new game that incorporates Blue Protocol's distinctive anime-inspired aesthetics and artwork. It will include a sophisticated combat system with elements such as classes, talent trees, skill sets, and more. Additionally, it will feature an expansive open world filled with quests, dungeons, and raids, allowing players to fully customize their characters. Furthermore, it will offer a multiplayer social experience through features such as trading, guilds, and community events. Lastly, it will support cross-platform play across mobile devices and PC.
In June 2023, Blue Protocol, an online multiplayer game developed by Bandai Namco Online, was released for PC players in Japan. However, the game was discontinued on January 18th, and its planned launch in the West, in partnership with Amazon Games, was also canceled. ( link ) The game was initially planned to release worldwide on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam at no cost during the latter part of 2023. However, it only became available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in Japan in December 2023.
Ater the announcement ( link ) in August 2024 of the game's end of service, Bokura revealed ( link ) the Star Resonance game "based on the Blue Protocol IP," and conducted ( link ) a closed beta test for Chinese players in December.
