Sō Matsushima, Jin Shirasu, Nono Tanahashi, Sakura star in series
On Friday, TV Asahi declared that they are creating a live-action television show based on Yū Toyota 's manga Papa and Daddy's Home Cooking ( Papa to Oyaji no Uchi Gohan ). This program will be shown on their "Oshi Dora Saturday" block starting October 4th.
In the series, Akira Sengoku, portrayed by adult Sō Matsushima in the image above, plays the role of Masahiro Harumi, who is played by Jin Shirasu in the series. Nono Tanahashi plays Airi, who is Akira's daughter in real life. Sakura plays Seiichirō, Jin's son in real life.
Ureha Shimada and Tatsuya Yamanishi wrote the scripts for the series, which is being directed by Takuma Satō and Naomi Kinoshita.
The manga's story centers ( link ) on chiropractor Sengoku, who is suddenly entrusted by his ex-girlfriend with their child. He asks help from his friend Harumi, a manga editor who is also a single father of a son. The story follows their daily struggles as they begin living together with their children.
Toyota launched ( link ) In April 2014, the manga was featured in the "Monthly Comic Bunch" magazine published by Shinchosha. The series ended in July 2020, with its final volume being released by Shinchosha in October 2020.
It appears that the English digital versions of certain manga were previously released by Mangamo, Comikey, and Manga Planet. However, these services no longer offer access to those particular titles.
Toyota launched ( link ) In April 2016, Shinchosha introduced "Oyaji no Uchi Nomi" as a spin-off of "Papa" in its "Go Go Bunch" magazine. However, when "Go Go Bunch" ceased publication in February 2018, "Oyaji no Uchi Nomi" was transferred to Shinchosha's "Comic @Bunch Web" (later "Kurage Bunch") website. The manga ended in July 2021, with Shinchosha publishing three volumes of it.
In 2018, the manga "Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?!" began being serialized on pixiv's Gangan pixiv service.
In October 2020, a Japanese live-action television series was launched on TV Tokyo based on a popular manga. This show was later made available for streaming outside Japan by Crunchyroll in December 2020. Additionally, two episodes of a net spinoff were released on Tsutaya Premium in December 2020. Finally, in April 2022, a live-action film sequel was released in Japan.
In January 2024, a TV anime was launched. It was available on Crunchyroll as it was released, and they also have an English dub version streaming. Additionally, a special edited version of the anime was shown in theaters from December 13th onwards.
