Kakao Entertainment has announced a partnership with Jjonyami, a popular Instagram character, for a new webtoon project.
On April 25th, Kakao Webtoon and Kakao Page will launch a new webtoon called "Jjonyami: Mission Earth!" This adorable white cat has gained over 133,000 followers on Instagram due to its hearty appetite and playful charm. Created by artist Chae-so, this character combines comic strips with Reels featuring Jjonyami's misadventures with its human friend Grandpa Manbok and animal companions Yeontan and Haedari. As a result, it has attracted a devoted fanbase.
Jjonyami's Instagram posts typically center around humorous daily life scenarios. However, their new webtoon presents a separate narrative. In this story, Jjonyami is a feline agent from Goyoung Star, sent to Earth for a secret mission of exploration and conquest. Unfortunately, during landing, the agent crashes and is rescued by Sohee, an ordinary office worker. As they adjust to their new living arrangements, Jjonyami and Sohee experience both chaos and warmth in their shared home.
