Wolf & Parchment: New Theory Spice & Wolf Novel Series Ends in 13th Novel...
Final novel launches on November 8
According to Kadokawa, the final volume of Wolf & Parchment: New Theory Spice & Wolf, which is a spinoff of Spice and Wolf series by Isuna Hasekura, will be released on November 8th.
In April 2016, Hasekura started a new series of novels featuring artwork by Ayakura. Kadokawa released the 12th volume on April 10th. The English version of this spinoff is being published by Yen Press.
In 2006, Hasekura started the Spice and Wolf series which featured artwork from Ayakura. After the release of the 17th volume in 2011, there was a pause in the series. However, it resumed in 2016 with the 18th volume. The most recent volume, the 24th, was released in January 2023. Yen Press is currently publishing the novels in English, having released the 24th volume in North America in August 2023. Additionally, Yen Press is also releasing the manga adaptation of the series.
In April 2024, a new season of Spice & Wolf was released as an anime series featuring a merchant meeting a wise wolf character. This show ran for two consecutive quarters before ending. Crunchyroll streamed this series both subtitled and dubbed in English as it was being broadcasted. There are plans for another season of this popular show.
Two TV anime seasons were created based on previous novels by directors Takeo Takahashi and Naruhisa Arakawa. These series were named "Spice and Wolf" and "Spice and Wolf II," respectively. "Spice and Wolf" was broadcasted in Japan from January to March 2008, while "Spice and Wolf II" was shown from July to September 2009. Both series were released on home video by Funimation.
The VR anime was released on Oculus Rift, HTC VIVE, and Oculus Go Edition in June 2019, following the TV anime. Another sequel was launched in December 2020.
