Anna Nagase, Fūka Izumi, Shōya Chiba, Satoshi Inomata star in Studio KAI anime


On Monday, the official site for the TV anime adaptation of Kōcha Agasawa's manga series "Koori no Jyōheki" (also known as "Ice Castle Wall" or "The Ramparts of Ice") released a visual and promotional video featuring the main cast, staff, and premiere date on April 2026 on TBS and other channels.

"Molcar the Movie: MOLMAX" is being directed by Studio KAI. Yasuhiro Nakanishi is handling the series scripts for "Sumikkogurashi - Good to be in the corner" and "The IDOLM@STER Shiny Colors". "Kaguya-sama: Love is War", "Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun", and "Mecha-Ude: Mechanical Arms" were directed by him. "Osana Najimi no Carbou" is being designed by Miki Ogino, who is also responsible for character design for "Molcar the Movie: MOLMAX". Kanade Sakuma and Natsumi Tabuchi are composing music for "Sumikkogurashi - Good to be in the corner" and "The IDOLM@STER Shiny Colors".

This manga was initially released as a serial on the LINE Manga application from January 2020 until April 2022. Shueisha later published its 14th and last collected volume in February 2022.

The manga centers ( link ) on Koyuki Hikawa, an aloof high school student who has a hard time getting close to others, and who builds a wall between herself and other people. Although she spends her time alone at school, for some reason Minato Amemiya keeps getting closer to her. The frustrating story of youth follows the lives of four somewhat complicated individuals: Koyuki and Minato, plus the popular girl Miki and the laid-back boy Yōta.

In December 2023, the manga was ranked #15 among male readers in Takarajimasha 's Kono Manga ga Sugoi! (This Manga Is Amazing!) guidebook. It was also nominated for the 69th Shogakukan Manga Awards in 2023. In May of that same year, it placed second in the "Vertical Scroll Comic" section of the second Rakuten Kobo E-book Awards. Lastly, it was ranked #2 on AnimeJapan's sixth "Most Wanted Anime Adaptation" poll in 2023.

The television anime adaptation of Agasawa's "You and I Are Polar Opposites" manga will be shown in January 2026 by Lapin Track studio. Crunchyroll will stream it. This anime was inspired by Agasawa's manga of the same name. ( link ) In May 2022, MANGA Plus released the English digital version of the manga found in Shonen Jump+. Additionally, Viz Media published the series in English.
