Shogakukan is a Japanese publishing company that produces dictionaries, literature, comics, non-fiction, DVDs, and other media in Japan. It was founded in 1920 by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko as Shueisha, which later established Hakusensha in 1946. These three companies are collectively known as the Hitotsubashi Group, one of Japan's largest publishing groups. Shogakukan is headquartered in Tokyo's Hitotsubashi ward in the Shogakukan Building, near Jimbocho book district. Additionally, Hakusensha and Shueisha are also located in the same ward.
