Two individuals named Gorou Saruwatari and Lostman are climbers who have scaled some of Earth's tallest peaks, including Mount Everest. Atop Everest, they spot the ISA Space Station floating in the sky above them, sparking their desire to enter space themselves. Meanwhile, NASA launches a program aimed at studying and harnessing an innovative energy source discovered on the moon. Gorou pursues this opportunity by applying for work as a construction worker while Lostman seeks to become a pilot.
