A young man who was presumed dead in an accident miraculously reincarnated as a newborn in another realm. He was then discovered and taken under the wing of the legendary hero "Sage" Merlin Wolford, who named him Shin. Raised by Merlin like his own grandson, Shin absorbed his teachings and gained extraordinary abilities. However, when he turned 15, Merlin lamented that he had neglected to impart common sense to him. This marks the beginning of an unusual journey for this boy in his fantastical otherworld existence.

Kenja no Mago began as a web novel on Shousetsuka ni Narou on January 2, 2015. Kadokawa has released a revised and illustrated version of the series since July 30, 2015 under its Famitsu Bunko label.
