Kirito wakes up in an expansive, magical forest brimming with towering trees. In pursuit of understanding his surroundings, he stumbles upon a youthful child who appears to recognize him. Despite being an NPC, the boy's emotions seem just as profound as those of a human. As they search for the boy's parents, Kirito recalls a peculiar memory from his own past. It is a recollection from his childhood, involving this same boy and a girl with golden hair, whom he had never forgotten-Alice.
