In essence, Fafnir is a character in Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid series who is depicted as a dark-skinned, brooding dragon who enjoys playing games, collecting merchandise, and reading doujinshi in addition to being obsessed with gold, jewels, and destroying humans. In this spin-off series, Fafnir lives in a shared apartment with Kobayashi's coworker Takiya, where he attempts to interact with humans and dragons or simply avoid them.
Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon: Okomorigurashi no Fafnir has been published in English as Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid: Fafnir the Recluse by Seven Seas Entertainment since January 17, 2023.
