The 73rd class of cadets at Kibi's Defense University are set to embark on a shakedown cruise aboard the new starship Amaterasu before their graduation. However, upon returning home, they learn about the declaration of war by an aggressive Kingdom against their planet. When their government surrenders without resistance, the cadets decide to take matters into their own hands and launch a war from the "Amaterasu." In order to secure funding for their mission, they strike a deal with a galactic news network, which makes them the center of attention in their own reality show. Unfortunately, this kind of exposure can be deadly.
