A modern fantasy that draws inspiration from Japanese Shinto folklore. Suzuhara Izumiko is a 15-year-old girl who has been raised in seclusion within the Kumano mountains, where she was sheltered and protected by her guardian Sagara Yukimasa. Although she's quite shy and accidentally damages any electronic devices she touches, she begins to contemplate leaving the mountains and moving to Tokyo when she starts thinking about venturing out into the world. To facilitate this transition, Sagara advises Izumiko to enroll in a high school in Tokyo and assigns his son Miyuki as her lifelong servant. Although they initially repel each other, their relationship gradually evolves after an accident occurs during a school excursion. It is then that Izumiko discovers her role as the last Himegami goddess' representative, while Miyuki learns of his duty as Yamabushi, the guardian of Izumiko.
