Kyon is an average high school student who no longer believes in fantastical creatures like ESPers, time travelers, and aliens. However, sitting next to him during class is the captivating Haruhi Suzumiya, a unique girl with her own unconventional interests. In her introduction speech, she openly declares that she yearns for encounters with extraterrestrials, time travelers, sliders, or ESPers. Inspired by her enthusiasm, Kyon tries to initiate small talk before class, eventually leading to deeper conversations with Haruhi. One day, during a discussion about the school's clubs, he discovers that he has been recruited into the newly formed SOS Brigade led by Haruhi Suzumiya.

Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu is the first of two manga adaptations of the light novel series. Both manga adaptations were published in Shounen Ace, but the earlier one was canceled after the first volume.(Source: Wikipedia)
