Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu  

Meet Kyon, a typical high school student who has given up on his childhood fantasies about encountering supernatural beings. On his first day at school, he discovers that his classmate, Haruhi Suzumiya, is obsessed with meeting aliens, time travelers, and psychics. Inspired by their conversation, Haruhi creates the SOS Brigade, a club aimed at bringing together these supernatural entities. The initial members include Yuki Nagato, Mikuru Asahina, and Itsuki Koizumi. By the end of the first volume, Kyon learns that these seemingly helpless students are actually part of secret organizations monitoring Haruhi as she is the key to a major catastrophe on the horizon.

Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu was published in English as The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya by Yen Press from October 28, 2008 to November 18, 2014.
