At age 17, Meg discovers that she has just one year left to live due to a death curse. Her mentor, Faust, reveals that the only way to break the curse is by gathering tears of joy and cultivating the seed of life. To do this, Meg must venture beyond her sheltered existence and experience various encounters, farewells, and friendships. Along the way, she will acquire valuable lessons from which to grow as a witch.
