At age 17, Meg discovers that she has one year left to live due to a death curse. Her mentor, Faust, reveals that the only way to lift the curse is by gathering tears of joy and cultivating the seed of life. To do so, Meg must venture beyond her sheltered existence and encounter various people, experiences, friendships, and emotions. Through these journeys, she will gain valuable lessons as a witch, which may be both joyful, bittersweet, and emotionally charged.
