In a future where technology has advanced to its peak level, humanity's civilization has become entirely dependent on the internet. However, an incident in the past caused the automated systems to malfunction and resulted in a self-replicating city structure that extends infinitely in all directions. Now, humans are unable to control these cities, and they face persecution from a defense system called Safeguard, which hunts down and eliminates any threats. In a small corner of the city is an enclave known as Electro-Fishers, who are facing extinction due to both the danger posed by Safeguard and dwindling food supplies. A young girl named Zuru embarks on a quest to find food for her village, but inadvertently triggers a Safeguard attack when an observation tower detects her presence. With all escape routes blocked and her companions dead, only the arrival of Killy the Wanderer can save Zuru from certain doom. He is searching for Net Terminal Genes, which hold the key to restoring order to the world.
