As a child, Joseph Chou was exposed to Japanese anime which sparked his interest in the entertainment industry. He later joined Warner Home Entertainment group and worked on The Animatrix project, which gained popularity and led him to become head of a division within Warner responsible for overseeing new animation projects. During his time at Warner, he collaborated with notable industry figures such as Shinji Aramaki and John Woo, and also worked with people in the U.S., including ADV founder John Ledford. After leaving Warner, Chou continued to work on various projects, including Batman Gotham Knight, and is currently producing a live-action adaptation of Evangelion.
