Kyoko Mizuki, a renowned Japanese author, is best recognized for her work on the popular manga and anime series Candy Candy. In 1977, she received the Kodansha Manga Award for Best Shoujo Manga for this series in collaboration with Yumiko Igarashi. Additionally, under the name Keiko Nagita, she won the Japan Juvenile Writers Association Prize for Rainette - The Golden Apples in 2007. Her short story Akai Mi Hajiketa is included in a Japanese primary school textbook for sixth grade (Mitsumura Tosho Publishing Co.,Ltd.). Furthermore, her picture book series Shampoo Ouji was adapted into an anime television series in October 2007.
