Yui Makino
Maki-Maki, Makkyu, Yucchi, Yui-chan
Makino began playing piano at a young age and discovered her talent for it when she was seven years old. At that time, film director Shunji Iwai recognized her skills and asked her to play piano solos in three of his films, including Love Letter. In addition to playing the piano, Makino also composed the song "Tenshi no Hashigo ~crepuscular rays~" for the Wii game Arc Rise Fantasia. Her outstanding portrayal of Misaki Nakahara in Welcome To The N.H.K! earned her a nomination for Best Young Seiyuu.
Makino represented Japan at several cultural exchange events, including the 2007 event held in China and the Japan Expo in France in 2009. She also performed as a stage performer at Ongaku Monogatari in Shanghai in 2009 and New York Anime Festival in 2009. Makino was a guest of honor at EOY 2009 in Singapore, Ongaku no Hi in France in 2010, and Concert in Rome, Italy.
Makino appeared in two films, several commercial messages, and a TV drama. She graduated from Tokyo College of Music as a piano major with the top score in her senior year piano ensemble. Currently, Makino is an artist under Imperial Records (Music).
